Ikram Ben Cheikh
Ikram started her Olive Oil journey asan analytical chemist specialized in olive oil and then she worked as the Head of olive oil laboratory research at Gogehuile for 10 years, one of the most important Tunisian companies and the leader in olive oil exportation. She was also the Laboratory coordinator between the laboratory of the regional direction of Agronomy of Mirandela and the laboratory of the school of Agronomy of Lisbon.
In addition of her Chemical analyst experience, she is an expert olive oil sommelier and has been awarded with IOC scholarship in 2012, graduating in organoleptic assessment of virgin olive oil at the University of Jaen, Spain.in addition,she has been certified as panel leader on the sensory analysis of virgin olive oil from Spain’s ministry of Agriculture, fisheries, and food.
Throughout her career she has participated in many international olive oil competitions, namely IOOC Brazil, Ovibeja IOOC Portugal and IOOC Dubai and she is also invited to local olive oil tastings(Concurso de azeite virgem extra Feira Nacional de Olivicultura,concurso nacional de azeites de Portugal; concurso de azeite virgem de Tras-os montes e Alto Douro).
